Summer Program 2017
SESSION 1: SCIENCE & LEGO ENGINEERING ( JUNE 19TH- JUNE 30TH )
Students in this session will be given hands-on opportunities to design, plan, and build their own creations using Legos. We will also explore the world of science by conducting experiments such as making Wizard’s brew, making a egg bounce, and using a potato as a battery!(Second week we will have “Snapology group” for the primary children).
SESSION 2: THEATRE AND FINE ARTS (JULY 3RD-JULY 14TH ) *CLOSED JULY 4TH* (Arts, Yoga, and Dance)
In this session the children will explore the different types of art and dance. They will also learn about yoga and even have a visit from a Yoga instructor. We will create masterpieces inspired by famous artists, express ourselves with a variety of dances, and decorate our own Yoga mats. Children will get to experiement with many types of art supplies and make various arts and crafts. They will also put on plays with a puppet theatre!
SESSION 3: ANIMAL SAFARI & DINOSAURS (JULY 17TH – JULY 28TH )
In this camp children will learn about all types of animals and dinosaurs! They will explore the world of dinosaurs by “making” fossils, learning about when and where dinosaurs lived, and buiding dinsosaurs out of paper mache. We will talk about the many different animals of the world, what continents they can be found on, and amazing facts about them. We will go on our own “safari” when we take a field trip to Green Meadows Petting Zoo!
SESSION 4: NATURE & CAMPING (JULY 31ST – AUGUST 11TH )
For the final camp students will lean all about the wonder of nature! We will explore the outdoors and learn how to care for the enviroment. Students will explore camping by setting up tents, learning how to use a compass, and make “camping food” such as s’mores and granola! In this session we will take a field trip to Fountain Rock Nature Center.
