Our Clarksburg location provides a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children ages 3 months to 6 years, with programs for Infant & Toddler (3 Months – 24 Months), Pre-Primary (18 Months – 36 Months), Primary (3 Years – 5 Years), Kindergarten (5 Years – 6 Years), Extended Day (18 Months – 6 Years), and Summer (3 Months – 6 Years). Families enjoy sunlit classrooms with big windows and low shelves, authentic Nienhuis Montessori materials, fenced outdoor play areas, a dedicated gross motor room, and on-site parking one mile from I-270 Exit 22. Controlled-access entry and daily cleaning and sanitization protect your child from drop-off to pickup.

Our Montessori Preschool Programs

Infant & Toddler Program

A calm, 500-square-foot room where a maximum of 6 babies learn alongside 2-3 teachers. Sensory-rich Montessori materials spark early development, and parents receive real-time photos and updates through the Tadpoles app.
3 Months – 24 Months

Pre-Primary Program

A literacy-rich classroom where toddlers build independence through songs, stories, self-toileting practice, and snack preparation. Daily outdoor play, plus a soft indoor playroom for rough weather.
18 Months – 36 Months

Primary Program

Child-paced learning across six curriculum areas: Practical Life, Language, Sensorial, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Art, music, movement, Spanish, and physical education enrichments are included.
3 Years – 5 Years​

Kindergarten Program​

An MSDE-approved Montessori Kindergarten with mixed-age mornings and dedicated Kindergarten afternoons covering science, geography, social studies, and art. Field trips and a graduation ceremony make it a memorable year.
5 Years – 6 Years​

Extended Day Program​

Full-day coverage from 7 AM to 6 PM. Early Risers begin with open-ended play, and afternoons rotate through art, science, stories, cooking, movement, games, and outdoor play.
18 Months – 6 Years

Summer Program

Five themed summer sessions, from Under the Sea to Space Expedition to Dino Dig, with hands-on projects guided by the same Montessori-trained teachers your child already knows.
3 Months – 6 Years

Green Valley Montessori is located at 1896 Urbana Pike in Clarksburg, just one mile from I-270 Exit 22, with on-site parking right outside our door for quick morning drop-offs. We proudly serve families from Urbana, Monrovia, Frederick, Clarksburg, Germantown, New Market, Boyds, Gaithersburg, Mt Airy, Thurmont, Adamstown, Middletown, and Walkersville, and the surrounding Frederick and Montgomery County areas.
  • Head north on MD-355 N (Frederick Rd) from central Clarksburg toward Urbana.
  • Continue straight as Frederick Rd becomes Urbana Pike (MD-355), passing I-270 Exit 22.
  • Drive north on Urbana Pike for approximately 1 mile.
  • Turn right into the entrance for 1896 Urbana Pike.
  • Arrive at Green Valley Montessori School — 1896 Urbana Pike will be on your right with on-site parking.
